Description
Postales del Este by Reyes Monforte is a heart-wrenching story based on real events about memory, love and hope in the midst of horror. In 1943, a young woman from France arrives at Auschwitz concentration camp, where she is assigned to work as a copyist for the women's section. As she navigates the harsh realities of her new life, Ella discovers hidden postcards and photographs among the belongings of fellow prisoners, which she uses to tell their stories. Through these letters, she forms connections with her fellow inmates and finds ways to resist the cruelty of their captors. But as a rebellion brews among the prisoners, Ella's own survival is threatened, including that of the man she loves. Years later, Bella receives a box filled with postcards from her mother, who had written them during her time in Auschwitz. These postcards, known as Postales del Este, hold a special significance and are now being shared with a new generation.
