Description
Sir Godber Evans, ex-Cabinet Minister and new Master of Porterhouse College, sets out to shake up the institution's reputation for gastronomic excellence, academic mediocrity, and social cache. His wife, Lady Mary, is his driving force behind this change, but not everyone is pleased with the new direction. The Dean, Senior Tutor, Bursar, and Head Porter Skullion are among those who resist Evans' attempts to reform the college. As tensions rise, hilarious and catastrophic consequences ensue, threatening the very foundations of Porterhouse College. This humorous novel explores the absurdities of academic life and the challenges faced by those in positions of power.
