Description

Set against the backdrop of a traditional Sioux village, Plenty Proud is a story of love and cultural identity. When a young woman from Missouri arrives in the village, she finds herself drawn to a man who is preparing to take another woman as his wife.

The arrival of this red-headed stranger sets off a chain of events that challenges the conventions of the community and forces both characters to confront their own desires and loyalties. As they navigate the complexities of their relationships, they must also come to terms with the differences between their cultures and the traditions that shape them.

This poignant tale explores themes of identity, community, and the power of human connection in a richly detailed and deeply moving way.
