Description

Toby Flood, a former actor, arrives in Brighton for a tour. His estranged wife, Jenny, visits him that night and warns about a suspicious man lurking outside her shop in the Lanes. Jenny's concerns are dismissed by her partner, Roger Colborn, but she convinces Toby to investigate further. The next day, Toby confronts the man, Derek Oswin, who claims Roger is responsible for his father's death from cancer due to his involvement in a plastics factory that was shut down seven years ago. Oswin is a fan of Toby's and eventually agrees to drop the matter, but Colborn tries to buy him off. Toby sees this as an opportunity to win Jenny back and continues to investigate the death of her late husband, Sir Walter Colborn. As he digs deeper, Toby uncovers secrets about Roger's past that threaten to upend his own life. A complex web of relationships and motives unfolds in this gripping thriller, where nothing is as it seems.
