Description

Planck: Driven by Vision, Broken by War is a biography that explores the life and work of Max Planck, the father of quantum theory. This groundbreaking physicist's story is one of vision and perseverance in the face of adversity. Born into a time of great turmoil, Planck grappled with the contradictions of his own identity as an influential German scientist whose ideas challenged the Nazi regime. His personal life was marked by tragedy, including the loss of his library and personal papers during World War II, leaving behind only handwritten letters in German shorthand and tributes from fellow scientists. Through a unique blend of Planck's writings, family correspondence, and accounts from his contemporaries, this book offers a fresh perspective on one of the most important figures in 20th-century physics.
