Description

Peter Fischli and David Weiss: Haus is an artwork that explores the relationship between everyday life and architecture. In 1987, as part of the Skulptur Projekte Münster exhibition, Peter Fischli and David Weiss created a 1:15 scale representation of a four-storey commercial building in modern international style. The work was intended to blend into the cityscape near the railway station. The artwork has undergone changes over time, with its original plans from 1987 recreated for a retrospective at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2016. In May 2018, Haus was permanently installed in front of the cycle-racing track Offenen Rennbahn in Zürich-Oerlikon. This book presents the artwork and its history, providing insight into the creative process behind Peter Fischli and David Weiss's iconic piece.
