Published by Wisehouse Classics, this is the unabridged Anniversary Edition of the original 1911 novel "Peter and Wendy" with the original 13 illustrations by F. D. Bedford. The story follows Peter Pan, a mischievous yet innocent boy who can fly, and his many adventures on an island inhabited by mermaids, fairies, Native Americans, and pirates.
The novel also features the characters Wendy Darling and her two brothers, as well as the fairy Tinker Bell, the Lost Boys, and the pirate Captain Hook. The play and novel were inspired by the author's friendship with the Llewelyn Davies family, and have since been adapted into various stage productions, including a 1904 play, a 1953 Disney animated film, and a 2003 live action production.
First published in 1911, the novel was originally published in the United Kingdom by Hodder & Stoughton and in the United States by Charles Scribner's Sons. The original edition contains a frontispiece and 11 half-tone plates by artist F. D. Bedford.
