Description
La Habana, 2016. A historic event shook Cuba: Barack Obama's visit, known as the "Cuban thaw", marked the first official visit by an American president since 1928, accompanied by events such as a Rolling Stones concert and a Chanel fashion show, upending the island's rhythm.
When an ex-Government director is found murdered in his apartment, the police, overwhelmed by the presidential visit, turn to Mario Conde for help with the investigation. As Conde delves into the case, he discovers that the victim had many enemies due to his role as a censor, silencing artists who dared to deviate from the Revolution's guidelines.
Conde must also unravel the connection between two recent murders, which seem to be linked to the past. A century earlier, in another era of La Habana, a different story unfolds: a case of murder in La Habana Vieja that exposes the bitter struggle between two men, Alberto Yarini and Lotot, over power and influence.
