Pavillon Le Corbusier Zurich is the last realised design by renowned architect Le Corbusier, situated on the shores of Lake Zurich. Completed in 1960, this steel and glass structure showcases Le Corbusier's Modulor system and demonstrates the potential of prefabricated elements to form perfect spaces for art and design.
Commissioned by Heidi Weber, a prominent gallery owner and patron of Le Corbusier's visual art, the pavilion represents pivotal aspects of Le Corbusier's architectural philosophy. Two architects, Silvio Schmed and Arthur Rüegg, have carefully restored the building to its original state, including the reconstruction of missing pieces of furniture and lighting fixtures.
This book documents both their research and the restored building, featuring previously unpublished historic photographs and documents alongside newly commissioned images by Swiss photographer Georg Aerni.
