Description
Parkgate and Neston Through Time by Vanessa Greatorex explores the fascinating history of two Wirral peninsula towns. From their transformation from humble shacks to grand architectural landmarks, these towns reveal how human activity has shaped the landscape over time. The story of Parkgate is one of contrasts, with its picturesque red-brick tower standing alongside a converted corn mill and Carnegie library. Meanwhile, Neston's history is marked by significant events such as cholera outbreaks and coal mining, yet it is also home to numerous philanthropic entrepreneurs who have enriched the community spirit. This book offers a unique glimpse into the evolution of these towns, shedding light on their past and present-day charm.
