Description
Park Dae Sung Ink Reimagined by Sunglim Kim is a visually striking collection of paintings that reinterprets traditional Korean landscapes through modern and imaginative techniques. With sixty years of dedication to mastering traditional brush and ink methods, Park has established his own innovative landscape style, which is showcased in this book alongside 150 full-color images. The publication not only highlights the artist's remarkable life story but also delves into the rich history of Korean ink painting from the 1950s to today. Through six scholarly essays, the contributors explore diverse subjects such as calligraphy, animals, and still life, providing a deeper understanding of Park's modernized style and its place within the long tradition of East Asian ink painting. This book will provide Western readers with a unique insight into contemporary Korean art and culture, while also inspiring interest in this traditional medium.
