Paolo Nutini's journey to stardom began in Paisley, Scotland, where he was born to a Scottish mother and Italian father. His early life took an unexpected turn when his grandfather encouraged him to sing, and a teacher at his school recognized his talent. Before pursuing music full-time, Nutini worked as a roadie and sold t-shirts for a rock band, while also learning the music business through hands-on experience at Glasgow's Park Lane Studio. A chance encounter at a concert in 2003 led to an impromptu performance opportunity, which caught the attention of his future manager, Brendan Moon. As Nutini honed his craft, he performed regularly in London venues, including The Bedford pub in Balham, and secured radio spots and support slots with notable artists. His unique style, characterized by singing with his eyes closed, began to gain recognition, paving the way for a successful music career.
