Description
Padre Pio and America tells the remarkable story of a seminarian who was sent to a remote mountain friary, only to become world famous for his extraordinary influence. Despite initial restrictions from his superiors, Padre Pio's message and spirit resonated with people from all walks of life. The book explores the early years of Padre Pio's life, including his time at San Giovanni Rotondo, where he developed a special love for Americans and America. This unique bond was forged during World War II, when American GIs visited him in San Giovanni Rotondo, which was liberated from German occupation. Through his interactions with these visitors, Padre Pio gained a profound understanding of the human spirit. This inspiring biography reveals the remarkable life of Padre Pio, a man known for his sense of humor, his abstemious eating habits, and his uncanny ability to connect with people from all backgrounds.
