Description
Osiris: Death and Afterlife of a God by Bojana Mojsov explores the cult of Osiris over 3,000 years, tracing its development from ancient Egypt to the Roman conquest. This comprehensive study draws together various records to demonstrate the enduring popularity of the cult, which had a lasting impact on Western mystical traditions. The book reveals how the cult's ideas and practices influenced Christianity, including the concept of the trinity, baptism in sacred rivers, and the sacrament of the Eucharist. Mojsov also examines the cult's influence on other groups, such as Alchemists, Rosicrucians, and Freemasons. Written for both general and scholarly audiences, Osiris: Death and Afterlife of a God offers a fascinating insight into one of ancient Egypt's most significant deities and its lasting legacy in Western spirituality.
