Description
Open House Designing Spaces for Living by Simon Lamunière explores the concept of temporary housing in architecture, art, design, and humanitarian aid. This substantial contribution to international debates about temporary shelter delves into the intentions behind such constructions, their underlying principles, and the lifestyle they convey. Eighteen international authors share their perspectives on this topic, revealing how these concepts relate to habitat, space, pragmatic criteria, and the time in which they are elaborated. The book features original installations and spatial experiments that address various issues of individual housing. Published in conjunction with a two-year research project and an open-air exhibition of the same title in Geneva, Open House showcases around forty designs by artists, architects, designers, architecture schools, research institutions, and humanitarian organizations.
