The new translation includes full notes and annotations from the French edition of Bataille's Oeuvres Complètes, as well as an introductory essay that situates the work historically and philosophically.
Published in 2015, On Nietzsche is a unique record of life during wartime, combining personal reflection with philosophical inquiry. The book was published contingent upon the German retreat and reflects Bataille's transformation of Nietzsche's will to power into his own will to chance.
