Description
Undercover operations in Northern Ireland during the Troubles remain shrouded in secrecy. This book sheds light on the previously unpublished details of surveillance, intelligence gathering, and covert combat. It reveals the complex web of agencies involved, including MI5, Special Branch, and the RUC, as well as the Military Reaction Force and the Special Reconnaissance Unit. The book examines contentious issues such as shoot-to-kill policies, murder squads, and collusion with loyalists, drawing on the findings of reports by Stevens, Cassel, and De Silva. It also looks at notable operations like Loughgall and Andersonstown, providing a unique record of these events. By uncovering the hitherto unpublished information, this book offers a fresh perspective on one of the most complex periods in Northern Ireland's history.
