Description

Description

Exploring the unique approach of 6a Architects, this book examines the role of narrative, history, and appropriation in their recent projects. The firm's members avoid style and signature in favor of a premodern sense of metis, or "flair, wisdom, forethought, subtlety of mind, deception, resourcefulness, vigilance, opportunism, varied skills, and experience".

A visual essay accompanies the analysis, featuring archival photographs, artworks, film stills, and recent projects by the firm. The book argues that 6a Architects' architecture is fundamentally a work of bricolage, creating art composed of various objects on hand, drawing from history and the everyday to create something new and vital.

Through this in-depth analysis, readers can gain insight into the principles guiding 6a Architects' design approach and explore the ways in which they draw upon history and the everyday to create innovative and vital buildings.
