Description

Richard Neutra: A Holistic Approach to Modernism The architecture of Richard Neutra is characterized by a perfect balance between inside and outside spaces. His buildings often feature sleek surfaces, vast glass panel walls, and panoramic views over natural surroundings. Neutra's affinity for architectural settings was evident from an early stage, as seen in his iconic Lovell House, set on a landscaped hill with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and Santa Monica Mountains. Later projects, such as the Kaufmann House and Nesbitt House, continued to blend art, landscape, and living comfort. This book presents Neutra's defining projects, showcasing a holistic brand of modernism that incorporated both the pared-down geometries of the International Style and the natural world.
