Description

Nagarjuna's Tree of Wisdom: A Translation offers insights into morals and ethics written over 2000 years ago. This commentary on moral living shares similarities with other influential texts, including the Tao Te Ching by Lao Tzu and Meditations by Marcus Aurelius. The text consists of 260 verses containing around 8000 words, providing a practical approach to life that differs from the more spiritual and esoteric nature of the Tao Te Ching. This translation aims to clarify Nagarjuna's message in a modern style while retaining its essence. Some sections may appear confusing at first, but contemplation will reveal understanding. The use of language in this version is distinct from Campbell's original translation, with some verses retained as they remain relevant today.
