Description
Amedeo Modigliani: A Pioneer of Modern Figurative Painting Discover the dramatic life and work of Amedeo Modigliani, a pioneer of modern figurative painting. His paintings of nudes and portraits are characterized by elongated figures, faces, and necks, and were influenced by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and Paul Cézanne. Modigliani's unique style developed during the avant-garde movement in Paris, where he began painting in his youth. His works, featuring full-page illustrations, showcase his bold and uncharacteristic approach to art. This book provides an insightful overview of Modigliani's life, including his bohemian lifestyle and untimely death. Featuring stunning images of some of Modigliani's best-known works, this volume offers a comprehensive look at the artist who modernized figurative painting.
