Description

Miquel Barceló is a major figure in contemporary international art, and this book explores his ceramic production. The artist's Mediterranean heritage is reflected in the vitality of his work, which treats the ceramic surface as a canvas to be painted upon. Barceló's ceramics are characterized by their expressive quality, with the material conforming to the gestures of the graphic hand. This volume accompanies the first Italian anthology dedicated to this theme at the MIC in Faenza, and offers a unique insight into the artist's oeuvre. The book delves into Barceló's own history, from his early approaches to ceramics to his explorations of African Dogon culture, philosophy, and the natural world.
