Description
Francesco Petrarca's autobiographical work, originally titled "Secretum meum", played a significant role in shaping the humanist movement and the concept of individuality. Written around 1340, it is set against the backdrop of the poet's 16th birthday, just over a year after he was crowned as a poet.
The book features a dialogue between two characters, Agustín and Francisco, who engage in a three-day conversation with the presence of Truth present. For Petrarca, this dialogue served as an open-ended inquiry into various aspects of the human experience, exploring the complexities of the soul.
This edition includes a selection of Petrarca's "Epístolas", offering readers a glimpse into his thoughts and reflections on life, love, and the human condition. A unique and thought-provoking work that continues to resonate with readers today.
