Description

Set in 2026, Metropolis is a dystopian novel that explores the contrast between two worlds: a technologically advanced city and an underground community of laborers. Freder, the son of one of the city's founders, falls in love with Maria from the underground, setting the stage for a clash between their worlds.

The novel, written by Thea Von Harbou alongside the script for the film adaptation, offers a unique reading experience that complements the visual elements of the movie. At its core, Metropolis is a story about the importance of understanding and empathy, as embodied in the phrase "The mediator between brain and muscle must be the Heart."

This book does not belong to any particular time or place, but rather serves as a commentary on universal themes that remain relevant today.
