Description
A fast-paced tale of deadly intrigue unfolds in Mesa Verde Victim. Archaeologist Chuck Bender and his brother-in-law Clarence Ortega are falsely accused of murder when Chuck's files are ransacked and the body of their colleague is found in Chuck's back alley. As they seek to clear their names, Chuck and Clarence team with Chuck's paramedic wife Janelle and their young daughters. Their investigation takes them to a hidden reinterment site north of Durango, Colorado, and then to a secretive archaeological dig in Gunnel Canyon on the edge of Mesa Verde National Park. There, they uncover rumors of spiritually significant burial vessels known as canopic jars, which could radically alter our understanding of Ancestral Puebloan culture. The existence of these canopic jars is said to be worth killing over, and Chuck and Clarence must navigate a complex web of intrigue to uncover the truth.
