Description

Mental Fictionalism: Philosophical Explorations explores the nature of mental states and their relationship to human behaviour. This book offers a new approach, positing that mental states are useful fictions used to make sense of people's actions.

Contributions from established authors and up-and-coming scholars in this field reveal the potential of a fictionalist approach to the mind, as well as its challenges. The book provides a fresh perspective on foundational debates in philosophy of mind, including the nature of mental states and folk psychology.

Featuring a range of viewpoints, Mental Fictionalism: Philosophical Explorations is an important work for advanced undergraduates, postgraduates, and professionals interested in the philosophy of mind.
