Description
In a quiet corner of London, there was once a house of entertainment called the "Bootjack Hotel". Mr. Crump, its landlord, had a humble beginning in life, having worked as a bootsman in an inn before opening his own establishment. The hotel's bar was a sanctuary for Mrs. Crump, who spent her days lounging on a plush sofa, surrounded by pictures of dancers from various eras. She would often take tea with a little something added to it, and spend her time reading or looking at the latest fashions. Her Sunday paper of choice was The Sunday Times. This collection of writings offers a glimpse into the life of Mrs. Crump, a woman who defies convention with her unique blend of elegance and informality.
