Description
A life of violence always involves some form of self-harm or harm inflicted by those who seek to assert their authority. Against this backdrop of 1980s and 1990s rural Spain, where the air is thick with the smell of heroin, industrial pollution, and tear gas, the concept of reparation takes on a different meaning.
Amaia's story is one of survival, as she navigates a world that seems determined to destroy her. Born into a family torn apart by violence, Amaia must confront the harsh realities of her environment from a young age. As she grows older, she finds herself at the forefront of a struggle to overcome the trauma of her past.
Years later, when Amaia returns to her hometown, she is forced to confront the unresolved issues of her past and the true extent of its impact on her life. This powerful and poignant novel explores the long-lasting effects of violence and the difficult journey towards healing and recovery.
