Maximilian Kolbe: The Saint of Auschwitz
In July 1941, Franciscan priest Maximilian Kolbe stepped forward in the Auschwitz concentration camp, volunteering to die in place of a stranger condemned to death by his Nazi captors. This act of self-sacrifice was not an impulsive decision, but rather the culmination of nearly forty years of Christian love and devotion.
From his early days as a monk to his later establishment of a thriving religious order and publication of a prominent newspaper, Kolbe's life was marked by remarkable dedication and service. This biography brings to life the story of this extraordinary individual, whose legacy continues to inspire and motivate people around the world.
