Description

The Oradour Massacre: A Dark Legacy of Nazi Gold and Atrocity. On June 10, 1944, the village of Oradour-sur-Glane in southern France was brutally massacred by the Das Reich 2 Panzer Division, leaving behind a trail of devastation and death. This atrocity is commemorated annually in France and has become an important part of the country's history. A lesser-known aspect of this tragic event is the role played by two SS officers who "acquired" one million dollars' worth of gold ingots while encamped nearby, leading to the massacre. This book delves into the story behind the Oradour Massacre and its real cause, shedding light on a dark chapter in World War II history. Hardcover, 280 pages.
