Description

The Defenders Vol. 9: A Collection of Weird and Wondrous Tales J.M. DeMatteis takes the helm as writer for comics' most famous non-team, the Defenders, in this celebrated tenure. Alongside artist Don Perlin, he guides Doctor Strange, the Hulk, Nighthawk, Hellcat, and the Son of Satan through a series of wild adventures into the occult. These tales are marked by their unpredictability, featuring demons, Dracula, and the Devil-Slayer, before culminating in a double-sized issue #100 extravaganza. The Defenders' struggle to prevail against these forces threatens the very fabric of reality, with hell on Earth being a very real possibility. This collection is notable for its "Six-Fingered Hand Saga," one of the most compelling Defenders adventures of all time. It also features the first appearance of the Gargoyle and the return of original team members the Silver Surfer and the Sub-Mariner. This beautiful hardcover edition collects DEFENDERS (1972) #92-102 and MARVEL TEAM-UP (1972) #101, offering a unique glimpse into this pivotal era in the Defenders' history.
