Description
Marjorie Fitzpatrick's life is turned upside down when she leaves her teaching post in Jersey due to the outbreak of war. She finds herself working for the Admiralty in their London headquarters, where she meets Captain Tristan Melville, a young officer waiting for his ship to be fitted with revolutionary new guns.
Tristan and Marjorie fall deeply in love, but their happiness is short-lived as Tristan's ship is attacked at sea. Years later, Marjorie meets Claudette Gilbert, a teacher from Rouen in France, who becomes her friend and confidante. Together, they embark on new adventures, including a cottage on the North Coast of Ireland and an apartment in Paris.
As Marjorie finds herself feeling alive again, she is surrounded by new people who bring joy and love into her life. This heartwarming story follows Marjorie's journey as she navigates love, loss, and friendship during wartime.
