Description
Marieluise is a play by Kerstin Specht, translated by Rachael McGill. First performed in 2004, it tells the story of Marieluise Fleisser, a playwright who faced intense criticism and personal turmoil after her second play was met with disapproval.
The play explores the challenges faced by women in the arts, as well as the devastating consequences of ostracism and rejection. This translation won the Revelations Award 2004 and is included in this volume alongside Specht's other play, The Time of the Tortoise.
