Description
George Bernard Shaw's Man and Superman is a satirical play that explores the eternal struggle between the sexes. After her father's death, Ann Whitefield becomes the joint ward of two men: Roebuck Ramsden and John Tanner. Believing marriage would prevent him from achieving his intellectual ambitions, Tanner flees to Spain with Ann in pursuit.
Their journey takes them to the underworld, where their alter egos engage in a lively debate about human nature and philosophy. This scene is often performed separately as "Don Juan in Hell." The play combines seriousness with comedy to create a unique exposé of the human condition.
