Description

Description

American Elegy presents 70 colour photographs of America, imbued with both clarity and nostalgia. Italian photographer Luca Campigotto captures the country's diverse landscapes, from the vast expanses of the West to the industrial fringes of New York City.

Each photograph is accompanied by short poetic notes, which serve as a personal journey of memories that echo literary and cinematographic works. This unique blend of photography and poetry explores the timeless myth of "on the road" travelling, and the ancient relationship between American literature and great landscape photography.

The book also features an afterword by Mauro Pala, a professor of comparative literature, which provides further insight into Campigotto's work and its place within the broader cultural context.
