Description
The L Word: A Groundbreaking Series in Focus This comprehensive guide explores the entire series of The L Word, covering its impact on queer television and the communities that follow it. Written by Dana Heller, with contributions from many of the same writers and scholars who contributed to the first volume, as well as new voices. The book delves into the show's significance, tracing its influence on post-Ellen LGBT television and fulfilling a long-neglected desire for lesbian stories and images. It also includes complete guides to characters, actors, films, TV shows, and episodes, making it an essential companion for fans of the series and those interested in queer television. The L Word may have ended its original run in 2009, but its legacy lives on through new reality spin-off The Real L Word. This book provides a lasting insight into the show's enduring impact and its place in the evolution of queer television.
