Description

Louis Comfort Tiffany Parakeets Window by Nonie Gadsden This carefully researched study explores the creation and legacy of Louis Comfort Tiffany's iconic stained glass window, Parakeets. The work parallels the public reception of Tiffany's art at the turn of the 20th century, reflecting on artistic ambition, nationalist pride, and the capricious nature of public opinion. Tiffany's innovative use of stained glass was a significant contribution to the international art world during the 19th-century revival of this medium. This book offers an in-depth look into Tiffany's life and work, shedding light on his artistic experimentation and the enduring appeal of his designs. Through its examination of the Parakeets window, this study provides a nuanced understanding of Tiffany's legacy and the cultural context in which he worked.
