Description
Long Story Short presents an unconventional survey of photography's history, showcasing work by masters alongside lesser-known artists and anonymous finds. Spanning over 180 years, this sumptuously designed volume features images from Eadweard Muybridge to Diane Arbus, as well as unidentified photographs of a tornado, astronaut Buzz Aldrin on the moon, and a lawn mower in flight. The unusual flow of images conveys photography's infinite riches and explores its inexhaustible possibilities. With work presented in approximate chronological order, this book offers a unique perspective on the medium's evolution. Published to mark Fraenkel Gallery's 40th year, Long Story Short is a testament to the gallery's approach to photography, which seeks out the unexpected and the unusual.
