Description

London: A Metamorphosis Anna Keen's large canvases capture the essence of London's transformation into a futuristic city. Through her patient observation and detailed sketches, she reveals the emotional landscape beneath the metropolis' surface. This unique perspective offers a glimpse into the soul of London. Keen's artwork is enriched with on-the-spot observations from various vantage points, including helicopter, boat, road, and foot. Her style draws parallels with that of 18th-century artist J.M. Gandy, who depicted both the city in ruins and under construction. Internationally renowned author and art historian Edward Lucie-Smith provides a foreword to this book, offering insight into Keen's painting career and artistic vision.
