London's Gemini Buses by David Beddall In 2001, Wrightbus introduced its Eclipse Gemini double-deck bus body, which offered a unique combination of features. This innovative design was available on the DAF/VDL and Volvo chassis, setting it apart from other buses in its class. The Gemini 2 model was launched in 2009, with Arriva London taking stock of both the Volvo B7TL and DAF DB250 models. The Gemini 3 body style, introduced in 2013, offered a slightly different appearance to the Gemini 2. In 2014, the Gemini 3 gained the same appearance as the newly launched Streetdeck model. The evolution of the Gemini bus was driven by advances in technology, with the introduction of hybrid chassis options such as the Volvo B5LH. This allowed for improved fuel efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
