Description
Living Poetically: Kierkegaard's Existential Aesthetics
This book explores Kierkegaard's concept of the poetic, tracing its development in his writings as an ethical-religious perspective. Sylvia Walsh seeks to understand what it means for Kierkegaard to be a poet and clarifies his role as a Christian writer.
Walsh argues that despite criticisms of the poetic in some of Kierkegaard's works, he maintained a fundamentally positive view of poetry as essential to ethical and religious forms of life. She reclaims Kierkegaard as a poetic thinker, offering a feminist reading that affirms individuality and relatedness.
