Description
Liverpool '81: Remembering the Riots In July 1981, Liverpool was at the centre of a series of street disturbances that had far-reaching consequences. Over four days, rioters targeted buildings and shops in the city's Liverpool 8 area, resulting in widespread destruction and injury. This book draws together memories and responses to the riots from those who were there, exploring why they took place and their lasting impact on Liverpool. It also examines how communities affected by the riots have reacted and moved on over the past 30 years. With fascinating interviews and previously unpublished photographs, Liverpool '81 provides a unique insight into one of Britain's most explosive summers. All royalties from this book will be donated to the Merseyside Black History Month Group Ltd initiative.
