Description

Nat Blake, a shy young orphan who used to earn a living playing the violin, joins a group of boys at school. The story is told from Nat's perspective, giving readers insight into his life and relationships with others. He soon befriends Dan and meets Nan, who accompanies Daisy, the only girl among the pupils. The school is home to ten young boys, including Nat and Dan, as well as two girls, Daisy and Nan. Two younger brothers of Jo Bhaer's sons are also part of the household but do not attend the school. This collection of stories explores themes of friendship, community, and growing up in a unique and endearing way.
