Description

This collection of essays by Hermann Weyl offers insights into logic and relativity theory, as well as reflections on his mentor David Hilbert and friend Emmy Noether. Spanning the 1930s-50s, these articles provide a unique perspective on mathematical comprehension and research.

Historians of mathematics, advanced undergraduates, and graduate students will appreciate these writings, many of which have been long unavailable to English-language readers. The essays cover topics such as topology, abstract algebra, and the nature of reality.

Published in 2012, this anthology provides a valuable window into the work of one of modern mathematics' most influential figures.
