Learn to Read in Japanese, Volume IV builds upon the successful approach introduced in previous volumes. This book is designed for students who are already familiar with 1,528 kanji characters and aims to teach new kanji in five steps: Step One, Core Kanji Catalogue. The practice material in each chapter includes only kanji characters that you know or are learning, with immediate feedback on reading accuracy provided through same-page romaji equivalents and translations. The book also offers over 3,800 Japanese words and phrases for vocabulary reading practice, as well as 912 practice sentences for each new kanji. With 560 new kanji introduced in this volume, students can continue to expand their knowledge of the Japanese writing system. The Core Kanji catalogue, sold separately, groups the new kanji by chapter, making it convenient to study them in groups before starting a new lesson.
