Description
Shelagh Cluett's collection is presented in this exhibition publication, which guides the viewer through the artefacts and ephemera collected during her 25-year journey across Asia.
The focus of this publication is on illustrating how displacement and documentation influence art practice, using 'things' rather than ideas. A selection of Cluett's own sculptures are included to highlight both formal and conceptual affinities with the objects on display.
These artefacts act as agents of partial connections within an ideal contact zone for transcultural exchange, highlighting the complexities of cultural exchange through a curated collection.
