Description

Laure Tiberghien: A Monograph of the Artist's Work. This book presents an extensive collection of 84 prints by French artist Laure Tiberghien, showcasing her exploration of photography's plastic dimension and inventive character. Through a process combining chemistry, light, and time, Tiberghien creates abstract photographs that demonstrate a sophisticated composition, with carefully tested colour relationships. The choice of paper plays a crucial role in the final effect, as seen in the use of cibachrome to produce a range of mottled and dense colours. Conversely, metallic papers yield a more electric rendering. Each print is unique, resulting from Tiberghien's meticulous control over her creative process. The book is accompanied by a text sequence designed by Studio SP Millot, punctuated by the writings of Erik Verhagen, a Maître de Conférences in Contemporary Art History at the University of Valenciennes.
