Description

Latin American Houses by Mercedes Daguerre explores the innovative one-family houses built in Latin America over the past decade. This book showcases the elegance and modernist heritage of contemporary architects, such as Paulo Mendes da Rocha, Mathias Klotz, Angelo Bucci, and LBC Arquitectos. The nineteen houses featured in this book demonstrate how Latin American architects adapt to challenging locations and materials, resulting in dramatic structures like Chile's Smiljan Radic Clarke's Pite House. Others, such as Michel Rojkind's PR 34 House, reveal forms inspired by non-traditional sources like Japan. This collection highlights the ongoing tradition of architectural innovation in Latin America, where modernist heritage is reinterpreted and evolved with creativity and ingenuity.
