Description

Las mujeres detrás de Picasso explores the lives and inspirations of the women who shaped the life and work of Pablo Picasso. From his wives and lovers to those who helped promote his art, this book sheds light on the often-overlooked stories of these talented individuals.

The author, Eugenia Tenenbaum, a historian of art and expert in gender perspective, delves into the lives of women like Olga Khokhlova, Dora Maar, Françoise Gilot, and Jacqueline Roque, who played a crucial role in Picasso's life and career. Through various literary genres and resources, Tenenbaum reconstructs fragments of their lives to give them back their rightful place.

Featuring artwork by nine prominent artists, this book challenges the traditional narrative of art history and invites readers to discover new perspectives on the past. By exploring the collaborative nature of artistic creation, Las mujeres detrás de Picasso offers a fresh and inclusive understanding of art and its creators.
