Description
Lala Mankowicz has two big wishes: to get a dog and to go on her end-of-sixth-grade camping trip with her best friend Haley Blaine. But things are complicated - Lala's mum is afraid of dogs, and she's terrified of spiders.
When her classmates tease her about her fear, it makes Lala very angry. But as she gets to know David, a boy who seems nice, she starts to see him in a different light. Maybe if she can overcome her fear of spiders, she'll be able to go on the camping trip and perform with Haley's dog, Shandy, in the Dog Tricks Competition.
This story is about facing fears and trying new things - will Lala find the courage to do what she wants?
